If you fall behind on payments, the lender or creditor may transfer your account to a collection agency or sell it to a debt buyer. This generally occurs a few months after you become delinquent, or the date you begin missing payments or not paying the full minimum payment. Once an account is sold to a collection agency, the collection account can then be reported as a separate account on your credit report.
An eviction is a legal process in which a landlord removes a tenant from a rental property. Many evictions happen for lease violations like not paying rent. Eviction does not show up on your credit score, but it may appear on other consumer reports and make it harder for you to rent in the future. If you owe any unpaid rent or court fees, those debts can show up on your credit report and lower your credit score.
Hard inquiries can be harmful to a borrower’s credit score. This is different from a “soft” inquiry, which can result when you check your own credit or when a promotional credit card offer is generated. Soft inquiries do not impact your credit score, but hard inquiries usually cause a small credit score decrease for a borrower. Hard inquiries remain on one's credit report for two years. Generally, a high number of hard credit inquiries in a short period of time can be interpreted as an attempt to substantially expand available credit which creates higher risks for a lender.
Repossession is the seizure of property that usually occurs as a result of the nonpayment of a debt, which can happen quickly and without warning. In fact, it's one of the worst things that can happen to your credit, making your financial life more difficult for years to come. Although some lenders may technically be able to repossess collateral immediately after a missed payment, most repossessions take place on accounts that are 10 days or more past due. This can negatively affect your credit score once reported to the credit bureaus.
A charge-off means a lender or creditor has written the account off as a loss, and the account is closed to future charges. It may be sold to a debt buyer or transferred to a collection agency. You are still legally obligated to pay the debt. As a last resort, the creditor can decide that the debt is a loss for the company and designate it as “charged off.”

Yes. Student loans can be removed from your credit if there is any inaccurate, unverifiable, or outdated information reporting on your credit reports. Depending on your account history we will determine if your student loans need to be updated, deferred, or consolidated. Please keep in mind that even if the student loan account is deleted you're still obligated to pay the debt. Removing the entire account may negatively affect your payment history which can cause your credit scores to decrease.
